Duplication and geometric growth is another exciting element of MLM! Duplication is the process of doing the same thing over and over again. In network marketing I view duplication as a two-step process. First, you follow a system that is already in place and then you teach others to do the same. Through the process of duplication, you will experience geometric growth in your MLM business.
To illustrate the concept of geometric growth, I will share the "Penny a Day" story. Start with one penny on day 1. On day 2, double the amount from day 1. On day 3, double the amount from day 2 and so on up to day 31.
Day 1 - $0.01
Day 2 - $0.02
Day 3 - $0.04
Day 7 - $0.64 (not very interesting but wait)
Day 14 - $81.92 (getting better)
Day 21 - $10,485.76 (now we're talking!)
Day 31 - Do the math and see what you get!
The first couple days of this duplication process isn't very exciting; you don't see very big results. But as you continue to duplicate over time you see bigger and bigger results.
This is the same type of growth you'll see in your MLM business through duplication. You'll teach someone else to do what you are doing. Then you'll both teach two other people and the four of you will teach four more people and so on. That's the power of duplication and geometric growth in network marketing!
As I mentioned, I view duplication as a two step process in MLM. The first step of that process is following a system that's already in place. You don't want to reinvent the wheel. Follow the lead of others in your team and company who have already gone before you and achieved success. They've developed systems and are working their network marketing business according to those systems. Reinventing the wheel will only cause you to spin your wheels and slow down your journey to success!
The key to duplication is keeping it simple. You want a system that's simple to follow, simple to do and simple to teach. If it's complicated people will be less likely to take action and will quit before they get started!
