Are you trying to grow an MLM home business? Are there certain aspects of business building that you haven't tried? What's stopping you? Fear? Confidence or lack of it?

My advice, just do it! Get out there and try something that you've never done before to help grow your business. You may decide that you don't like it but at least you've tried it, and now you know that it's something that's not for you.

I recently held an open house to promote my MLM home business and help build my customer base. I've been in business for over a year and this is something I've never done. I don't know what was stopping me. Fear mostly. But I finally decided that this was something I needed to do to help get the ball rolling.

So I ignored all those little voices in my head telling me why I shouldn't plan this open house such as what if I don't have a good turn out and what if I make a complete fool of myself. I set a date and started with all the preparations including sending out the invitations.

I found sending out the invitations was the hardest part because I wasn't sure who to invite. Well, I've connected with numerous classmates on Facebook this past year who I have not seen since high school so I thought an open house would be a great way to connect face to face with these people again so I sent out an event notice. And I mailed or e-mailed invites to those who do not use Facebook.

The day of the open house came and here are the results--three people showed up. Not what I was hoping for but not a complete wash either. I made a few sales as well as some sales from people who did not attend. Plus, I exposed all those people that I invited I did not show to my product through the invitation.

But the biggest thing I gained from the experience is confidence, confidence in myself for pulling off the event. Was it perfect? No way! But it's a starting point. There will be things that I will continue to do and things that I will change. I can only improve from here!

Is there an aspect of your MLM business that you haven't tried? Get out there and just do it. Don't expect to be perfect the first time. Use it as a stepping stone to greater success!
